Welcome to Earth Action Index LLC, DBA Earthling ("we," "our," or "us"). Your privacy is important to us, and this Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. You may optionally set a home place (city/location name).
• Location Data: We collect your location on-demand (when you interact with the map, search by location, or set a home place). We immediately reverse-geocode any lat/lon coordinates to a coarse place name for storage. We do not store your coordinates.
• Submissions: Any recommendations, events, or places you submit are stored in our database. If your submission is accepted, it will be credited to you and will be published publicly.
• Anonymous Usage Data: We collect anonymized event data (searches, filters used) through privacy-focused analytics.
• Recommendations seen: We keep track of recommendations you have seen so we don’t show you the same featured recommendation twice.
• Authentication: We support email/password, Google OAuth, and Apple Sign-In.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalize our services.
• Enable location-based features (field guide, local recommendations, event notifications, etc).
• Process your submissions and credit you if accepted.
• Maintain security and prevent fraud.
• Improve and optimize our platform.

3. Location Data

Earthling is location-enabled. Here's how we handle it:
